From the Designer
"Although it's almost impossible to choose, the numbat could be my favourite Australian native animal.
It is a small and beautiful little marsupial, quite unlike any other animal.
I have drawn the numbat many times, just for fun and also to use in my designs. With its cute face, expressive eyes, distinctive striped markings, pretty colouring and busy tail, the numbat is a perfect subject for an interesting animal drawing.
My design for the numbat scarf shows a pair of numbats standing either side of a couple of termite mounds. Numbats eat termites, almost exclusively - an adult numbat can eat 20,000 termites a day!
This is a unique Australian design that you will be pleased to own and happy to give as a quality gift. And your purchase will contribute to supporting* the protection of numbats!*".
The numbat really needs our support and protection. It is an endangered species.
There are only a few small numbat colonies found in Western Australia and there are estimated to be only 1,500 numbat individuals left in the wild. Because they are small, numbats fall victim to larger predators like foxes, snakes, dingoes, dogs, and large birds of prey, who prey on numbat babies. :(
*5% of every sale of the Numbat Brothers scarf goes to Project Numbat
